Who has two thumbs and just submitted her book manuscript to the publisher (and only six weeks late)? This girl. Stay tuned at @columbiaup.bsky.social :)

What a treat to talk with the fine folx at @rwulaw.bsky.social this morning! Stay tuned for an upcoming podcast episode on tax equity, housing, and why the Taylor Swift Tax makes sense for working people.

About to join @nbcnews.com to discuss the Taylor Swift Tax, and Rhode Island’s commitment to safe and affordable housing. If you can afford a million-dollar vacation home, you can afford to help Rhode Island keep moving forward. That’s a love story worth telling ;)

Come see us at Rhythm and Roots Festival this weekend! We’re really, really looking forward to it, and we have all kinds of new music to share.

Officially signed into law! What a treat to have my townhomes bill (shoutout to @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social ) and my land bank bill (shoutout to ReclaimRI) signed into law today. It takes a village, truly. And we won’t stop until every Rhode Islander has a safe and affordable place to call home❣️

This town does a really special thing WaterFire Providence. It was a treat to be a torchbearer last night, along with colleagues from state governments around the country. Thanks to the Council of State Governments for your support of good policy, and for giving us an excuse for a magical evening!

I love this, and I hate that we need it: DIY transit infrastructure, demanding that we properly invest in *actual* infrastructure. (if you can’t read the writing on the chair, it says FUND RIPTA). #saveRIPTA

Full house in Pawtucket last night, objecting to massive proposed cuts to @ripta.com. We NEED our bus service, which is the foundation of a healthy community. Thank as well to Walter Melillo, the head of the ATU (bus drivers’ union) for your powerful words.

Pawtucket— it’s tonight! Come on out to the library at 5 PM to voice your opposition to the drastic, crippling cuts that are being proposed to our bus service. See you there! (Providence, you’re up on Monday!)

This is what happens when the legislature declines to fund public transit: RIPTA cuts routes, which means people can’t get to work, which means people can’t pay mortgage or rent. Or buy groceries. As the District 15 Senator, I will fight for full funding for transit Until.This.Is.Fixed.

Love this intrepid crew from @neighborswelcomeri.bsky.social, who are the best kinds of nerds I know: pro-housing, pro-data, and pro-community. I’ve been honored to work with them on legislation the past few years to address the housing crisis.

Part of how we create a future worth having is through stories, through imagining ourselves into them and into what we could be. Here’s an absolute beauty, gritty and transcendent at once, by Lily Brooks-Dalton. #whatimreading

Update: Billionaire handout passed the Senate. Now to the House, where *IT CAN STILL BE STOPPED*. Three Republicans voted against the measure: Sens. Rand Paul (Kentucky), Thom Tillis (North Carolina) and Susan Collins (Maine), forcing Vance to cast the tiebreaking vote. Call your Congresspeople!

Such a delight to have this inquisitive, astute group of law students visiting the State House from Mexico today through UNAM Boston. Sweltering heat but excellent conversation!

‘Nuff said.

Gonna be pushing for money to #SaveRIPTA until the gavel comes down tonight. Public transit is a public good.
