Brandon confirmed in that panel that Blitz really wanted to make it as a performer, a comedian or a clown if you will. But no one would laugh at his jokes or appreciate his performances, so for the first time- he gave up, and became an assassin instead.

Brandon confirmed in a panel a while back that Blitz never wanted to become an assassin. He stressed in that panel that while Blitz loves his work, he did it because he needed it to survive.
