Yes! And most of it is parroting points they see online without understanding the unspoken contradictions in those points. "Doesn't move the plot forward" could apply to so many iconic scenes and "pointless" is antithetical to art in general. It is OK to just be uncomfortable with something.

I agree. I always say there is no way to invalidate them as a part of the art, other than it makes you uncomfortable, which is completely real and valid. Any fabricated idea about the plot or whatever is disingenuous. Being married to an actress, I see the nuance, but art is art.
