Influential figures like the president and media set the scope of "acceptable" discourse. The onus is on them to take down the temperature.
Besides, the 6th Jan insurrectionists all got pardoned. That sends the message that political violence is acceptable (but only by the right wing, obviously).

It turns out the conservatives and reform were the snowflakes all along, but really we already knew that. This is great ammo for the non-insane parties though.
