After over 15 months of the Israeli genocide in #Gaza and a slightly shorter war on #Lebanon, after months of daily death and immeasurable loss, a #ceasefire has come into effect. The time for mourning starts now.

The White House announced that the US-brokered ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and Israel, which was set to expire on Sunday, will remain in effect until February 18, extending the original 60-day timeframe by an additional 23 days. The Lebanese government approved the extension on Monday.

#CivilDefense teams returned to northern #Gaza today only to find that the Israeli army had destroyed their vehicles and equipment, reducing them to twisted heaps of metal. Israeli bulldozers and tanks crushed the vehicles, effectively eliminating all ambulance and rescue services in the north.

Syrian authorities detained Egyptian dissident Ahmad al-Mansour after he posted videos threatening the #SisiRegime from inside #Damascus, according to Reuters.

Families of the disappeared and associations of victims of detention and enforced disappearance issued an open statement to the new Syrian administration, led by #AhmedAlSharaa, demanding an end to the tampering with prisons and detention centers, and calling for strict protection of mass graves.
