Creative Australia ditching Khaled Sabsabi as our representative at the Venice Biennale is an extraordinary denial of artistic freedom by our supposedly leading & independent arts advocate.

A week ago Sabsabi said he thought the honour "wouldn’t happen because of who I am.” Turns out he was right.

This month I am leaving Birkbeck after 5 years. I’ll be forever grateful to my brilliant colleagues & students, and I’ll miss them. But I’m also buzzing to be joining Monash Criminology/Social Sciences in January. I’ve received a really warm welcome & I’m looking forward to becoming part of the team
