An editorial cartoon by Megan Herbert depicting a mother and son watching the evening news on television. The living room they're in is modest; the coffee table is adorned with tax and other bills payable, a shopping list divided into three different supermarkets to maximise savings, and a fuel savings docket. The story they're watching announces "Elon's trillion dollar payday" with an image of Elon dancing with a robot on stage at the recent Tesla shareholders event. The child, playing with simple toys on the floor takes in this news story and asks his mother "How do you become a millionaire?" His mother replies, "Unchecked free market capitalism and not enough love as a child."

An editorial cartoon by Megan Herbert that depicts a super ute (brand: RAM IT THROUGH), in the tray compartment of which sits and Australian family, an indigenous elder, a kangaroo, a koala with baby, and a sea turtle, all wearing crash test dummy stickers on various parts of their bodies and heads. Leaning out of the cabin's windows are passenger PM Anthony Albanese, who is waving a flag saying "Environment Protection Reform Bill", and driver MP Murray Watt, also adorned with crash test dummy insignia. A sign on the side of the ute reads: "DESIGNED BY INDUSTRY, POWERED BY FOSSIL FUELS". The ute is revving, exhaust fumes pluming from the rear, in readiness to be driven at speed headlong into a wall in a crash test facility, on which is written, in emergency colours, CLIMATE CHANGE. Murray Watt cheerfully invites Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young and Coalition leader Sussan Ley to "Hop in!" Senator Hanson-Young, walking away with arms crossed, says, "No thanks." MP Ley, smiling, hand on hip, and ready to negotiate, says, "Only if you lose the seat belts, airbags and cut the brakes."

On the other side of the court is Donald Trump, looking ill-tempered, frowning and arms crossed, with a female attorney, and a large crowd of political advisers and supporters behind him. A female judge, standing at the bench, is bringing court to session by saying (in a speech bubble): "All rise in the case of Donald J Trump v various inanimate objects that are out to get him. An editorial cartoon by Megan Herbert in the form of a poem. The top half of the panel shows a series of vignettes of depictions of violence (clashing protesters, people attacking each other, screaming at each other from opposing sides, and arguing online or being in thrall to online arguments). Beneath these vignettes is verse reading: "They couldn't bear our stance on guns; We hated how they voted./ They blamed us for their problems; We claimed we'd been scapegoated./ They doubted our humanity; We shunned their point of view./ The only thing uniting us was Us v Them and Me v You." The bottom half of the panel features a line-up of politicians and corporate billionaires watching these scenes. Beneath them more verse: "Pausing to survey this scene could make one stop and wonder... Who is set to profit most from keeping us asunder?"

The Australia Post attendant is pointing to a sign up on the wall behind him which reads "US SHIPPING SUSPENDED. No longer delivering: FREE TRADE. Exemptions: PRESIDENTIAL GIFTS. AUKUS PAYMENTS." The attendant is saying "Unless they contain items of diplomatic flattery or are part of an ill-conceived military pact, you're out of luck." The small business owner looks duly put out.
