Just to be clear, this is a violation of the fundamental ethical principle in clinical trial design called "equipoise."
Equipoise means that no-one is exposed to excess risk just to test the therapy. That's specifically *why* vaccine trials don't use placebo arms.

It’s not a puzzle why there are fewer U.S. cars sold in Germany vs. the other direction. The fault isn’t the German auto. Price it however you want. Those massive things don’t even fit on the streets and most models make their driver look like an ego-fragile asshat.

But each time I see him it’s bitter sweet. It’s remarkable how much he looks like my dad. Maybe I should check out the family trees.
