Scrapping ILR is a catastrophic, small-minded idea on every level. This is where chasing Reform votes and aping their rhetoric has gotten Labour. And it will only get worse until we stop coddling and start challenging anti-immigrant sentiment and racism.

What we analyzed isn't *just* language - it's what happens in practice as a result of those narratives. People fall through the cracks, or they're treated like passive victims instead of being given space to speak/act. We've got more studies coming that will link it more strongly to practice.

How we talk and think about things (language) shapes what we do about them (design/delivery). So, sometimes it's about design, yes, but sometimes it's about assumptions that individual humanitarians make as they deliver a program or apply a framework/tool.
