If James Dutton were a real person, this would be he. My great great great grandfather, William Goodwin Dana, patriarch of our family, and owner of the 38,000 acre Rancho Nipomo. I'd like to use this space to collect his stories, the stories of California in the days before and after statehood.

This little patch was proving very resistant to removal. It was a dirty job, but one that didn't need any purchases to complete. I've committed at least an hour a day to working on the little stuff, so todays task: ✔️

Here is is: 4 years after I bought her, and lots of demo, I am about 95% done with pulling it apart, and starting to make plans to put it all back together. The ultimate goal is a mobile kitchen with a small
living quarters, where I can make my bread and have a guest over.
