Time for a real-life post to break up the re-posting of the early stage cyberpunk apocalypse! I’m enamored with the appearance of Palo Azul tea in sunshine. How extraordinary that soaking wood chips in alkaline water produces this effect!! My favorite way to drink it is brewing it with ginger.

Was it overly ambitious to host 20 retirees for a chocolate making workshop this week? Maybe! But — it was also the highlight of my week, and oh boy were they are all tickled to pieces the entire 2 1/2 hours.

Possibly the best bonbon I’ve ever created. Pure chaotic inspiration, after a long day of making 12 of our other flavors. Vegan white chocolate ganache with freeze dried wild foraged blueberries, lemon, and vanilla bean paste — with some crumbled GF graham cracker I make for our portal puffs.

These chocolate lips are so damn sexy. Inspired by River Song and Vanilla Cherry Coke. For the ganache inside, I use: 64% chocolate, coconut cream, vanilla bean paste, cherry, and a dash of espresso powder. All vegan, organic, soy-free ingredients.

I enjoy looking back to see how our chocolates have changed over time. Last year we did Raindrops & Roses in April, using a combo of luster dust and colored cocoa butter. This year’s Hearts & Roses has three techniques in one set. We’ve been having fun playing with the “velvet” texture on the roses!
