It was surprise and delight— surprise because in my brain you lived several times zones to the west, and delight because unlike most of the cool gardens I see on Bluesky, Longwood Gardens is a place I could actually visit sometime.

I have two kids a little younger than Joy and one of them is *so much like me* and suffers so much because of it. I just think of all the things we do for and to our children, how sometimes it's right to follow them down and sometimes it's right to let them go... and I'm a goner.

when I'm in the discovery phase of a project, I spend a lot of time on business process and goals. In order to get client SMEs to think as tool-agnostically as possible, I've resorted to prefacing questions with "let's imagine all of this is being done by elves running around with Post-It notes."
