I do have a quilting friend who loves her Babylock Jazz 2. And lastly, look at Sailrite machines if you are in the US or willing to shop there. They make some seriously heavy-duty machines and I’m pretty sure are based in Ohio. I would probably own the LSZ ultra feed one if I still lived there.

My admittedly limited experience with the newer ones (built after the mid 1960s) is many are mostly plastic and don’t hold up well to stuff like flat-fell seams in denim. Plus, they are computerized, cost a fortune, and last as long as that board lasts.

That machine is 75 years old and going strong. For a domestic old machine, a Singer 201-2 or 15-91 both have potted motors to give them extra power over the ones where the motor bolts on back.

Not a new Singer. Even the one they sell called “heavy duty” isn’t all that heavy duty. If you want a new machine, consider looking at ones like a Juki DDL machine. These are straight-stitch machines often used in shops. If you want to go older, a Singer 31-15 is what I use to quilt.

Click on Sallie’s name in your list of followers to see her profile. At the top of her profile there is a bell. Click that and set to be notified if she posts. You can do the same for Virginia and me. That way you will know when we post something.

And I just got a notice that we can set to be notified if a person posts. You click on their name, which takes you to their profile page, and then click on the bell, you can toggle on notifications for when that person posts or replies.

I’ve mostly been following people when they announce they are on BlueSky in a Facebook post. It took me a while to learn Facebook way back.. I think you can see both followers and following for each of your friends and expand your network that way. It might help if we actually post as well.

Have you followed a bunch of people? I have a feed filled with cats. And birds. But the issue probably is that we haven’t learned how to use this platform yet. This might be my first post.

It is mostly just another Thursday here in Canada for me. I’m getting my car serviced tomorrow. Thanksgiving here is in early October, and I don’t really celebrate that either.
