Anyways I hope you enjoyed my C. megalodon reconstruction. Peace.

The top is classic which I redrew and the bottom is Jack's. Both are scaled to the same length, and I got their masses to be the same. My reconstruction / the classic suits well with Cooper et al. 2020 in terms of bulk. Neat ik.

I calculated this Megalodon's weight to be 61 metric tonnes for a 15.9 meter / 52ft individual. It was the same bulk as Jack Cooper's model, which also gets 127 metric tonnes, and based on that I calculated it to be the same weight.

Anyway I hope you loved my Megalodon reconstruction. I spent so much effort into it. As I said it was based on the classic bulky Megalodon reconstruction which is fairly accurate IMO as it is largely based on Lamnids most especially based on the Great White Shark. I hope you enjoyed my work friends.

It is easily my favorite since 2015. It will always be so. The main difference is that I modified the colors to be black, but that's it. However, either color is acceptable, I'm just a more black Meg guy.

Btw it isn't exactly my reconstruction, but yes I did redraw it. It was based on that iconic reconstruction you can see from 2015 - 2018 Megalodon videos. These videos especially the 2016 ones were my childhood btw.

Overall, I think this is a pretty accurate depiction for C. megalodon because it is in Carcharodon not Otodus. Yes I can explain why I still use Carcharodon as the valid genus and not Otodus or Carcharocles.

I made a version with the teeth extending out, but not the jaws.
May 6, 2025 at 1:23 PM
I added a stance where my Meg's mouth is fully closed.

I listed the features of my reconstruction.
May 6, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Here is my Megalodon compared to a Great White of equal size just to underscore the differences btw. You can see how the Megalodon is a lot more robustly built, has a shorter snout, more robust jaws, and a larger tail to go with its massive size.

And also more drawings. In the 1st image the Megalodon has a mouth infection, so it looks screwed up.

Here is the Meg with the mouth open but not wide.
May 6, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Obviously ik upscaling a Great White is wrong, but it'd not be very different. As I said and as the reconstruction shows the Megalodon would be a lot bulkier, have more robust / larger jaws, and larger fins.

The main reason why I used the Great White Shark as a base was because there are major similarities that justify having them look very similar.

The skeletal surprisingly lines up quite well with the body. Hope you love it.

I even made it in skeletal form. I sadly only did it with the jaws extending out though. It'll be easy making it with the jaws extending in, but at the moment I'm too busy.

Version with mouth closed.
May 6, 2025 at 12:57 PM
Update. I made a version of my Carcharodon megalodon with the mouth open. 1 has the teeth inside while the other has the teeth extending out.
