And I’m glad they’re lies. Because the makers of AI aren’t damned by their failures, they’re damned by their goals. They want to build a genie to grant them wishes, and their wish is that nobody ever has to make art again. They want to create a new kind of mind, so they can force it into mindless servitude. Their dream is to invent new forms of life to enslave. And to what end? In a kind of nihilistic symmetry, their dream of the perfect slave machine drains the life of those who use it as well as those who turn the gears. What is life but what we choose, who we know, what we experience? Incoherent empty men want to sell me the chance to stop reading and writing and thinking, to stop caring for my kids or talking to my parents, to stop choosing what I do or knowing why I do it. Blissful ignorance and total isolation, warm in the womb of the algorithm, nourished by hungry machines.

The baffling thing to me is why anyone would consider RFK, a member of one of the most prominent political families in US history, an outsider or "little guy." He (allegedly) got into Harvard by sending an application with just his name on it (from "RFK Jr" by Jerry Oppenheimer)

Kennedy Jr and the Dark Side of the Dream" by Jerry Oppenheimer, reading: There came a day when Bobby and his classmates were asked to fill out applications for the college or colleges of their choice. Bobby, of course, chose only one and that was Harvard, which he considered his birthright. It should be noted that when his uncle Jack applied to Harvard on April 23, 1935, he wrote just five brief sentences, stating that he felt Harvard would give him a "better background and a better liberal education" than other schools, and he closed by writing, "Then too, I would like to go to the same college as my father. To be a Harvard man is an enviable distinction, and one that I sincerely hope I shall attain." But Bobby's Harvard application was far different from his uncle's, at least according to Palfrey classmates who claimed that he simply wrote his name--Robert F. Kennedy Jr.--at the top, sent it in, and got accepted. When Joey Brode heard the story years later, she found that what Bobby had done, if true, was "disgusting. It just reeks of arrogance, but I did not experience Bobby as arrogant."
