If history repeats itself, this will be the 12th recession that happens under a Republican in the last 100 years. 12 out of 13 (~92%) is not a great track record. Also, since 1989, 50 out of 51 million jobs were created under Democrats, Trump may single handedly tank that number into the negatives.

IIRC, the tariffs on China will go from 60% to 70%, along with his additional tariffs on other countries + his mass deportation plan, we could be looking at a economic depression due to additional "knock-on effects" on housing and agriculture, and others.

Unfortunately, tariffs are one of the few things Trump can basically do unilaterally with almost no congressional approval required.
