Hearing the helicopters circling day and night triggers my anxiety. I hate having to be on the lookout for them. It’s worse for my kids who have nightmares. I finally have an idea what it was like for people when their country was being occupied during a war.

That’s a question I’ve been contemplating for a while now. It frequently overwhelms me (along with all the other elements of a paramilitary occupation).

I have never asked someone’s legal status. The other people that I know helping immigrants aren’t asking that either. They’re members of our community, they deserve our support.

Yes, we are standing up for each other and helping our immigrant neighbors.
