I'm still trying to work out what modern British values they mean? They presume that anyone who isn't white English are some form of subhuman artefact of the colonies. My oldest friend's family is from Scotland. He shares your view, as do I. I may end up there at this rate.

Next step, repatriation. It might not be this government, but any black, brown or person of immigrant background born in this country should be very concerned about where we are headed.

These people are brainwashed by an alternative history that gives immigrants little to no credit in building and adding to the culture of this land. That propaganda is why we end up with the likes of Patel, Braverman, Badenoch and the rest.

Apart from Ireland, you are a British citizen, with all the rights that go with that. However, they can take that away from you with the stroke of a pen. You become a citizen of nowhere, no rights or entitlements. It wouldn't matter which country you were born in, that's my point.

We always describe the British as being 'tolerant' of others. Tolerant means being able to bear something that you dislike. In this context black and brown people. So, if I have been tolerated for over fifty years, at what point will I be accepted? Mahmood is British until they decide she isn't.

I used to work for a supermarket offloading trucks. A driver turned up one day telling me that Muslims are incompatible with western society. That was 30 years ago. Sadly these people have always been there. Let us hope a reckoning will manifest in the near future.

It's 'nothing to see here' in the UK. I was banging on about the real reason why those in power were hoarding all the resources and building bunkers. Just blank stares. They deny climate change yet act as if the world has already reached a tipping point. Humanity has had decades to act, but...nope.
