Likes cats more than people. Not a joiner. Likes nuance and logic. Long suffering (occasionally joyful) #Pompey fan. Lives #Reigate
I just don’t know. I don’t what the part of me is the real me and would have been like without 50 years of trying to fit in.

Agreed. And who’ve been diagnosed later in life so are coming to terms with how it’s affected them their whole lives. I just want a safe space where we can discuss things like that.

Thank you. ☺️ What I would really like is to be in a social setting with people I can be myself in front of and they don’t judge because they’re a bit different too. Trying to be normal is exhausting, unsatisfying and doesn’t work anyway because it’s not genuine.

Not really, I can’t concentrate. But thank you, you’ve already been more help than Assist Surrey were. I just wanted their help to set up a group really.

Same!

Glad to have found you. We have foxes visit our garden and we sometimes put out dog food we bought for them because we know they can often be starving.

Same and he’s always given me the ick. I think that factory programme he does is a really good concept but I don’t watch it much because of him. Also I’m autistic and him using that as an excuse is upsetting to say the least.

*That* scene in the finale was absolutely brutal.

But if you explain, and are open to discuss the matter, there’s a chance someone’s mind could be changed or at least opened a bit, whereas if you just label them, divisions will remain - they might even become more entrenched in their views. [I did 4 posts, not 3 and that will worry me all day 🤣]

It’s a reasonable question. Non-white people were a tiny % of the UK population in WW2. The positive response is to politely explain - some media companies do “colour blind casting” to get the best actors, some aim for inclusion after years of non-white people not seeing themselves on the screen.

I think both are perpetuating division. I believe “ if you’re not part of the solution then you’re part of the problem”. Now if the post says “I hate to see non-white people in films” they have a serious problem. But if they merely query the historical context then why presume the worst?

I believe in the positive butterfly effect decent people bring to the world even if they don’t see the results.

Judged, absolutely this. Is this perhaps more of a thing for autistic women because society’s perception of how women should be is so narrow?

It’s a good interview with Harris. I’m glad the club and officials kept him so well informed. Just a shame the supporters were literally kept in the dark (even after the lights came on!). Do we believe the ‘safety of the fans’ line? #Pompey

I 100% consider myself different, not broken. I am extremely kind to others, animals and the planet - I think a lot of ‘normies’ cannot honestly claim the same.
