Ableton is probably the most useful/versatile anyway. Unless you’re going to work in a recording studio, you don’t need to use protools.

So what did you choose?

In case you’re interested. Protools was crashing because my username on the Mac was one character. Yup. Avid is getting very creative with how they F up their software.

Changed my username to 4 characters and now Protools works. (For now.)

I also vote for Ferry Building. While you’re there, take the ferry to Sausalito, great little town for window shopping. Have dinner at one of the many waterfront restaurants, and then take the ferry back. Especially if the weather is good.
