So long time no post. I was back in an artblock. So I am trying to climb out of it again!
So today I tried a complete different style from my own. And it is not what I usually strife towards but it was fun to see that I can do a half decent stylized portrait out of the blue!

But like I said before shading is my absolute nightmare and my brain makes knots in itself XD So this is how far I've come. (I know it's like nothing)

Currently my mood is not the best, the heat does the rest. So today I played a little with 2 point perspective to clear my head.
the shadows are yeeted in a second so most likely very off XD
Do any of you have exercises that helps you relax? would be very interesting to know

this took all my energy today.
Coloring is much much harder for me than the other parts. Shading is something I really struggle. And coyping here seems almost impossible. I swear I made the color swatches really on point. But it still looks off XD And I hate it XD

Havent been feeling Up to much the last days. So no update for now.
The next few days most likely will be silence too since we have some stuff to do at home. Making our bedroom cozy :3

So today I started with colors!
I did NOT colorpick the OG since otherwhise I would have lost a great opportunity.
Instead I guessed the color. Drew over the OG at the corresponding place and adjusted the colors until it matched.
It was not always easy to see if it was off because of hue,value

I finished the first lining! I may will change the thickness of the hair again. I colored them in reddish tones for now since the whole lineart has this underlying warm glow, which makes me guess that red/orange are the most common undertones here.

Update from #masterpasta Lineart
I first do it in solid brown and then later I try to color it.
Even though I use the same brush it's hard to copy the existing lineart XD But so far I am at least doing a somewhat ok job :3
For copying the lineart I turned the reference picture black and white.

#Masterpasta makes me use a brush that differs not only with pressure but with the tilt of the brush (which is pretty nice because it behaves like a real pencil) for the very first time.
I am not used to use a pencil in that way either so I am fumbling a lot XD

is the lineart. Pasta was a real sweatheart and answered my question of which brush was used for the lineart.
But lineart is still something I do very different then it was done in this lineart and even with the same tool it still is very different to use it the same way

Next up is how I made the gradient for the background:
(1) Picking the colors and adding them to CSP color palette tools. (most bottom 5 colors)
(2) copy a gradient tool of csp (right click - copy subtool) And accessing the settings
(3) choosing advanced settings (my csp is in german sry)

Something I think is worth showing you guys is the way I made the circlet at his right arm. #Masterpasta
(1) I use the circle tool and make a nice oval circle right at the top of it.
(2) I copy the circle to make the bottom line.
(3) another copy to add thickness to the circlet

I didn't make any small step screenshots. But it was pretty much just the same as I did before.
I finished adjusting the skeleton fingers.
Then I added the details of the mechanical hand and the armor.
It is just drawn in from looking. Have not laid the og art behind it to see if it fits.

Todays session of #masterpasta
was really interesting. I have three stages of the one hand. And at each stage the sketch I had felt "right". But whenever I got to another stage and looked at the stage before it looked wobbly and off. Which gives me a mixed feeling.
