He’s not meeting the moment. He’s a wonk and right now people need inspiration to action. They want to beat MAGA, not understand them. We know who they are. He’s clinging to neoliberalism in an era of populism. His last book was controversial. Some liked it. Some felt it boiled down to conservatism

He was being protected by CIA. It’s how he got away with wild shit until it was impossible to ignore. When the 2007 probe ended, someone senior in DOJ killed it. US Attorney Alex Acosta asked why, he was told it was “above his pay grade,” and when he pushed he was told it was “Intelligence.”
