MacKay's adjectiveless reminds me the Bendis era which is not a bad place to be. I think Exceptional has been a good "New Mutants" style of book, and Uncanny is probably the most affected by the amount of crossovers we've had. Krakoa still gets brought up a lot for it being a soft reboot though 😂

The nice thing is the era had something for everyone and gave room for a wide variety of characters to contemplate and question the new status quo

The Krakoan era was transformative while also asking the question of "what is the cost of having everything you've wanted," so there's sometimes a feeling of something sinister under the surface. However, when the era hits, it knocks it out of the park. There's a lot but I recommend....

I highly recommend reading Al Ewing's other contributions to this era. S.W.O.R.D and X-Men Red lean into X-Men's history with Marvel Cosmic while providing some great character moments within a grand narrative. It's also sometimes just Dune
