I don't love the proposal as written, but a large portion of the US already is on HMO plans with PCP gatekeepers. And the fact that a 100m people are under single payer is evidence that we are capable of bringing it up to everyone. Recall that we pay much more for worse outcomes compared to others.

Dan Biss is actually not bad. I supported him when he ran for gov against pritzker in 2018 as by far the most progressive candidate, and before anyone knew that Pritzker was pretty good. He's done a decent job as mayor of evanston. That said if I still lived in the district I'd vote for kat

I appreciated this book sincr I found it refreshing to see an author take big swings on a lot of topics. The corollary of that is that some of those swings are just increasingly outlandish the further they get from the guy's expertise. His latest book is even worse for this, especially on ai
