I find that the buds (or some of them) can get damaged when dividing in spring and then the leaves are ragged the whole season, but yes they are definitely very hardy and resilient.

I was never really "taught" to do scholarly writing but seem to have a self-taught affinity for it, and it reads well and is usually lively, thank goodness...but so much of what I read in this realm is just so dry or dull or overwrought, even in the humanities...

Sounds like the craziness circa 1980s but alas, this superstitious nonsense is making a comeback (social media full of ignorance and bots) and with Project 2025 on the horizon is likely to get worse.
