To mark the occasion, I have created this image using Google Gemini. The reading Buddha represents the slow newsroom approach & the tortoise speaking for itself.

Well done James Harding & the team for your tenacity in keeping print alive.

@tortoisemedia.bsky.social has bought the paper. Set up as a "slow newsroom" in 2018, with the ethos of giving yourself time to understand what's really going on in the world.

And that's not all. The Observer now has its own dedicated website: www.observer.co.uk

This has been the result of persistent work we have been doing to outreach to community groups here in Glasgow.

We will run two groups of training. One starting May, the other in September.

Exciting to get to this point! And appreciating @marzid.bsky.social brush yer teeth Damer's good humour!

Amsterdam's story of homelessness is like many other cities in Europe. Wealthy city that does not cater well for people falling on hard times. Reassuring that there are numerous support organisations doing what they can, but clearly more needs to be done to tackle poverty.

We were however preparing workshop materials for the new Changing the Narrative Journalism Training Academy, aimed at providing skills development for people with direct experience of homelessness & poverty.

This is fascinating. I like the simplicity of the images used. One for us to consider for the Changing the Narrative project!

If you know of anyone who has had direct experience of homelessness & poverty, and wants to build their skills in storytelling and journalism, please share this with them.

We will be running workshops from Glasgow & finished articles will be published in our global newswire.

Let's do this!
