Update: Just watched "Future Shock! The Story of 2000AD" and I'm even more sold on it all now.

Facebook is also going down a similar path, injecting people's feeds with around 33% content from pages they don't follow, much of it extreme-right and conspiracy nonsense, even to users who have never followed or engaged with such content.

Any like-minded #2000AD fans out there with pointers for someone like me rediscovering the comics, feel free to give me a shout! (Aside from the subscription, I'm also going to grab The Small House and A Better World Judge Dredd graphic novels as they seem up my street!)

So: I'm going to subscribe to 2000AD and get back into it (and yes, also subscribe to the podcast since I thoroughly enjoy Molch-R's conversations with @cuntersthompson.bsky.social); my birthday is one week from today and I live in Yorkshire; too bad I can't be at @thoughtbubbleuk.bsky.social!

Love Michael's references to Stuart Hall who also just so happens to be on my living room wall, and have now this week ended up rediscovering my love for 2000AD (I kept that Judge Dredd newspaper strips collection book for years!) and its roots in punk anti-authoritarianism and social commentary.
