Stayed in Houffalize at the big hotel there for several weeks while we excavated a B-26 crash site in the area for DPAA. I frequently would walk or run up to that CWGC plot for that Lancaster crew.

UW Med Flight 40th Birthday today.
We’ve come a long way from a single engine Dauphine, to twin engine variants, Augusta 109’s, EC-135’s to our current EC-145’s!

Happy Birthday to UW Med Flight!
40 years ago today in 1985, the program launched and flew its first patient. Today, over 50,000 patients later, we are still going strong and serving #Wisconsin #Illinois and surrounding states. @uwmadison.bsky.social @uwhealth.bsky.social @madtownem.bsky.social

A lesser known point on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon at dusk this past week. It’s not marked on the park maps, and one can often have it all to yourself. The true epitome of “sublime”.
Protect our parks!

I’m not a #birder, but saw robins this week and DM’d the #wisconsin Audubon Society as I was curious about it (who responded right away). Were they early returners? Global warming? Found out that apparently not all robins migrate, esp with lack of snow and reliable food.
Learned something today

Today is a special day for the University of Wisconsin MIA Recovery and Identification Project, as we remember S/Sgt Henry Stevens of Louisiana, who was shot down 80 years ago today near Bastogne, Belgium on a B-26 and listed as MIA until found by our team in partnership with the DoD DPAA.
