Did anyone else notice the price difference between the US and the Japanese model is roughly 25%?

I feel like Nintendo either badly timed these prices when America is striking towards a bad economy. Or they really are just this greedy. I’m gonna have to hope that the discourse DOES bring this to attention. And they take consideration for these prices.
