Today was a historic day for farmworker rights in Maine.
It's a rollercoaster ride under the dome right now...today we had a truly historic outcome on the farmworker minimum wage bill and a mixed bag on the corporate income tax bill. Last night we celebrated paid leave remaining safe and unharmed in its gestational state!

How will Mainers feel tax changes in the GOP budget? The top 1% in ME—those making over $817K—will receive an almost $37K tax cut. The bottom 40%—those with average income of $30K—will get a $360 tax cut. But don't get too excited about that $360, because it disappears when you factor in tariffs.

If passed and funded, LD 1955 will shore up child care wage supplements to ensure educators don't see pay cuts, provide funding to eliminate the existing waitlist for the state subsidy for working families, and add an additional $1 million annually to improve access to the subsidy. #mepolitics

A big step towards a win for Maine farmers. Adding a 1.07% tax on corp income over $3.5M, we'll put that money to work where it counts: our farms, our fields, and our future. Big corporations can afford to chip in. Maine agriculture can't afford to be left behind. #mepolitics #NoFarmsNoFood
