While Israel blocks most aid, we look for creative solutions. With a local partner, we built four community clay ovens in a camp at al-Mawasi.

With famine worsening under the ongoing Israeli siege, families struggle to get any food. With no electricity of cooking gas, cooking what little food is available has become very difficult. MECA works to support families in Gaza however we can.

In the last six weeks we have distributed 9,000 parcels of fresh produce to families in central and southern Gaza. Our latest parcels were 9.5 kg (21 pounds) of tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, zucchini, and cabbage.

Muhammed was working with one of our partner organisations and he was with us every step of the way in responding to people’s needs amid the ongoing monstrous genocide.

He sustained an injury to his head by a shrapnel of an Israeli attack near by on 8 May 2025, and succumbed to his wounds the following day.
