An acquaintance of mine postulated today that the layoffs have more to do with resetting salary levels than anything else. The CEO's want to pay themselves more.

I noticed the fire hydrant across the street from me had been dug out from the prior snow. I thought originally that the fire department did it, then I remembered that they often asked the home owners to do that when there was so much snow. You are so right it is a mitzvah to dig them out.

I really want this attitude to spread among all those who have previously touted gun ownership. Maybe we can have a dialogue on the actual benefit of having more guns than people in this country. But I doubt it.

Thank you for the short note. We are behind you 100%. What has happened to you and is happening in so much of this most beloved country is very hard for me to understand. Not the country I have known and loved for 80 years. Be safe.

😁The snow is not going anywhere very soon that is for sure!!! More on top of what we had. It is just endless so far here in Northeast Ohio. But we do love it and the spring that follows.

I was appalled this morning when I read an article about the famed Cleveland Clinic. They had an $18 billion dollar operating surplus last year. They have decided to open (re-open) a Level 1 trauma center in Cleveland. They closed theirs years ago. How wonderful of them.

i don't quite believe he has been fired. Moved to a new location but I think he still has a job with ICE for now.

I spent yesterday and today clearing my driveway of 15+ inches of snow. I still have to clean off my car. I haven't spent any money since Saturday before the snow started. I am thinking about not cleaning the snow off my car!!!

I vote for cold turkey cessation. If you feel the need to go back set a time limit - 2 to 3 minutes!!! Can't hurt. Nothing there for anyone anymore.

They believe they do not have to think about their own well being - it will be taken care of. Not at all realizing how disposable they are despite the evidence in front of them.

My DIL missed a lot of school due to family circumstances. This is one of two books by Orwell she asked for for Christmas. I bought her both - this and ANIMAL FARM. I am certain she will get more out of reading them now than she might have when she was young. Next will be FARENHEIGHT 451.

I am 80 years old. I love bowling and find that I can perform better if I manage to get to the gym between bowling leagues to keep my joints and muscles moving better. I believe I am also less likely to injure myself.

Are you referring to people in the modern day "news" broadcasts? These people truly are speaking without thinking to disrupt and ambush the conversation even if they get it wrong.
