Gil’s work is so vitally important. Hard to overstate that fact. Hoping his words will spread more widely and we’ll see more engagements, likes, shares. Waiting now for his book.

Yarvin and his self serving billionaire followers are dangerous and ignorant. Yarvin asserts that democracy has failed but on the contrary, countries with the best quality of life and human rights are democracies: Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Canada, and Germany (since end of Third Reich).

Lots of demonisation in these replies. I think people realise that refugees don’t as individuals defund schools or other public services. If it’s the case that refugees, their processing and accommodation are not major drains on the budget, then that’s the argument you need to provide evidence for.

That’s true but then we’ve only lived this way for a few generations. As McBibben said back then, to the effect, “Its as if humanity scrimped and saved for our entire history, then blew everything on one last fleeting debauch only to wake and find we had contracted a terminal illness in doing so”.

Totally understandable. In Australia we are becoming the 51st state and major parties seem ok with that or to be in denial. We’re handing over billions to be enmeshed in US nuclear sub network, having bases here, enmeshed military so we can be a staging ground for war with China. Terrible.

I don’t know at all. I’m not a US citizen. What’s happening in Texas is alarming. As is huge budget allocation for detention camps. My government is still going along with deeper military ties as if it is business as usual for the alliance and in my opinion that is a mistake.
