We love when our data is used to help connect people to services! In Knoxville, TN, Measure of America data are being used to help young people find employment in ZIP codes with high youth disconnection rates. This map was created through a partnership with the National League of Cities.

We’re so excited that the revamped DATA2GO.NYC is live! The tool contains over 400 indicators of well-being and access to opportunity across New York City’s nearly 200 neighborhoods. Below is a preview of some of the data featured on the site, but the tool contains so much more.

This report disaggregates disconnection data by place including region, state, metro area, & congressional district. Disconnection rates by metro area vary from 6.6% in Chattanooga, TN-GA to 18.5% in McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, TX. bit.ly/2024dy

The good news of a post-pandemic recovery masks the stubborn gaps that continue to separate racial and ethnic groups. Native American young people continue to have the highest disconnection rate and Asian young people, the lowest. bit.ly/2024dy

The 2022 national youth disconnection rate is 10.9 percent, or 4,343,600 opportunity youth. This rate represents a near-return to the pre-Covid rate of 10.7 percent in 2019, after the pandemic-driven uptick in 2020 and 2021. bit.ly/2024dy
