Article 88 of the UCMJ is why they don't. They will not follow unlawful orders on the whole, and the parade, their reaction in Quantico screams that. It may not look like it from the outside but they won't be used as political tools. Are there MAGA enlisted? Yes, but they are a tiny minority.

"If that power was taken away"? It was never his power to begin with, it was ALWAYS Congress that has that power, and if he wants to change the US tariffs structure then he has to get a law passed and then he can sign it.

Nope, sign the bill, then the shutdown can end and it cannot be a temporary funding, it has to be permanent. Otherwise we will be back in the same spot as soon as that funding lapses. Likely when they know they will lose the majority, or the Presidency (or both) so they can pull the same crap.

There is no mechanism for what people think of as "Martial Law". Further there aren't enough federal personnel to pull it off even in just the "blue states" let alone the fact that there are half a billion firearms floating around the nation. It is a logistical impossibility for any military.

Article 88 of the UCMJ is why. This doesn't work like you think it does; any other way would destroy the country effectively immediately. It is infuriating but that silence was deafening not because they aren't taking action but are not going to let him use them as useful idiots. This is resistance.

One very needed point that I just don't see anywhere is that "antifa" isn't an organized group or organization at all. There are no leaders to tell people what to do or think, it is the same as any other ideology, that is a series of ideas and nothing more. It kills me that they believe otherwise.
