Since it was not a MAGAt with a permit carrying a gun in a holster in the small of his back he probably wouldn't care.

Nope, sorry; as someone who spent extensive time fighting Remain in Mexico in Trump's first term, the reality is that the cartels maintain very high levels of control in Nuevo Laredo and Matamoros and would often kidnap people within minutes/hours of their expulsion from the US under the program.
