Hrm, I feel like there's a better way to word that... maybe "Assume the author wrote what they meant, and did so for a reason"? But that's being nitpicky lol. Overall I share the same sentiment.

"I followed the recipe exactly except that I replaced oil with applesauce. Unfortunately, I did not turn out well. It's consistency is neither brownie like nor cake like. I can't eat it. Sadly, will have to dispose the whole thing. I don't know what went wrong as I followed the recipe exactly." An online comment on a recipe, rating it 2 stars. "Made this pie tonight for the family. I didn't have any heavy cream on hand so I subbed sour cream instead. The texture was ok, but the flavor was pretty bad; way too tarty for my taste. Not sure if I would want to make again." An online comment on a recipe says "I don't enjoy much bell pepper, I'll have to find a replacement for it, but don't know what." A reply to the comment says "It's a bell pepper soup. If you don't like bell pepper don't make a bell pepper soup."
