Gerard Collin's "The hush sisters" is on my list, after reading his earlier novel, "Finton Moon". It's not fast paced storytelling, but the writing is stunning, the characters are complex, and there are enough elements of Newfoundland/ Gothic fantasy woven into the plot to keep you guessing.
