This is the face of a happy (and tired) conference organizer celebrating a well-run event. 😂

We had an incredible #WagtailSpace! With over 450 people attending live from over 20 countries around the world, I am SO PROUD that we brought together so many amazing people for our 3-day journey.

Our #AI talks are on Day 2 at #WagtailSpace, and I think all our speakers have had a very practical and measured approach to it. If you want REAL advice (not hype!) on using #AI in your projects, come hang out with us!

It's a bird! It's a spaceship! NO, it's a bird IN a spaceship! 😆

Y'all, I'm legit proud of the programming we put together for Wagtail Space 2025. In a world full of scary headlines and enshittifying tech, I feel truly happy to be lifting up stories of people using our software to help others.

"Wagtail. It's wonderful! It's beautiful! It has dark mode!" A great enthusiastic endorsement of @wagtail.org at #DjangoConUS. Thanks for the kind words Chaim Kirby! Glad Wagtail has helped make your family's adventure blog extra special.

Some light reading for the plane since I couldn't be with my friends and neighbors at #nokings today.

Always worth a re-read. 🇺🇸

Had to miss my local #nokings rally today. So I did my own thing 34,000 ft in the air.

I'm so glad I decided to go to the #PyLadies auction at #PyConUS tonight! It was SO much fun!

Also, I am very glad that @Wagtail.org got to be part of the famous "pen" grab bag lot that raised $2.1K for PyLadies!

Such a fun time! 10 out of 10 would do again!

My lightning talk, Maaah! How I Killed My Site with a Goat Gif, got accepted! Come watch me tonight at #PyConUS! There will be at least one goat and a reference to the Death Star. 😂

Miss out on getting a Django pony in the #PyConUS exhibit hall last night? We still have some! If you make a small donation to the @djangoproject.com, this holographic pony sticker will be yours! The first person who shows us a donation will also get this Djurassic Park sticker!

Val Kilmer will always be remembered for other roles first. For me, he is and always be that saucy mercenary from Willow.

RIP Madmartigan.

My friend @bajoranengineer.bsky.social is starting a bold conversation with her talk The Biggest Problems in Open Source Have Already Been Solved. So many good ideas!

I think the most American thing I did today was finish a queer baseball romance featuring a trans masc lead and the most delightful strap-on sex scene I've ever read. I highly recommend this book by KT Hoffman even if you're not a sportsball person!

So I read this headline from the Guardian, and my brain was all like, "What are all those priests getting up to now?"

And that's not what this article was about at all...

In honor of Halloween, have a pumpkin on top of a Pumpkin! (The cat's name is Pumpkin.)

I am having a Cursed Week. So please indulge me and tell me, what your favorite luck rituals and counter-curses? They can be from real life or fiction.

I'll go first. I love rituals with water. The Old Well at UNC is great example. Every year, new students drink from the well for good luck.

Feeling for all the Parrot Heads out there. I have a lot of good memories of my dad and I singing along with Buffet in the car. And when I got older, we hit up Margaritaville in Panama City.

To have lived a life that brought so much joy to so many is a such blessing. Cheers Jimmy and thank you. 🌴🌊⛱️

All sorted! Thank you Caitlin Moran!

I need a break from staring at a computer screen. This pile of GAH has to be sorted. I am making myself sort this dammit. I will listen to the joyous feminist rantings of Caitlin Moran to get me through this.

Today's Daily Tar Heel cover shows death is the wrong stick for measuring the impact of a shooting. For terror roots itself in people far deeper than any scientist can record.

My cleaning failure for the day: This massive cluster of tupperware. No matter what I do, the Tupperware always becomes a pile of GAH! I shall deal with that GAH tomorrow now...

My cleaning victory for the day: Realizing I could repurpose a shoe organizer to hold my tools instead of stacking them up on the water heater like a squirrel piling nuts.
