And a schematic of the finished garment, that way I have a quick check that my guage swatch didn't lie and I'm headed in the right direction.

I love the two circs method! With interchangeable needles, I can put a smaller tip on the left hand end on each one and between that and half the needle wrangling of DPNs the knitting just flies!

Try looking up "traveling loop" or "magic loop". Both are ways to use a long cable on a small diameter project.
