Just observed the 3I/ATLAS #interstellar comet with my 8 inch scope. Diffuse circular object with a hint of a core. Visible with direct vision at 5.30am. I can confirm I could not see anyone on board! 🔭

Just watched #Venus dissappear behind the #moon. You could see the disk gradually reduce in size to a slither over a minute and then dissappear. Amazing. Here is my best pic. 🔭

Just observed the galaxy pair UGC 9650 and 9668 (Markarian 839) in my telescope. Both are about 170 million light years away in Ursa Minor. A pair of galaxies in the same field of view is always special. #astronomy 🔭

Just been out observing a star that exploded 40 million years ago in my 8 inch telescope. Here is a picture taken by my friend Chris. The supernova is the bright white blob. #NGC7331 #ukastronomy

Amazing to see the mountains of the moon and detail in the sunspots during the #eclipse. We are blessed to live on earth and be able to witness this.

Wow, well worth waking up for. My first ever view of Omega Centaurus. I used 15 x 70 binoculars from Madeira. A lovely bright oval shaped fuzzy ball in a pretty star field. Very obvious and mesmerising. #astronomy

Joe there are still a good group of visual astronomers in the UK. We call ourselves the dob mob. #astronomy
