The orbits of the planets is relatively stable but do vary slightly over time due to gravity from other planets. This can affect climate along with changes in axis tilt. Most planets have an elliptical orbit but Venus and Neptune are the most circular.

Gravity is a function of mass. The more mass an object has the more gravity it can exert. The most massive object in our solar system is the Sun. 99.8% of all the mass in our solar system. Hence, everything is in orbit around it.

Jupiter is made up mainly of hydrogen or helium. The outer layers are gaseous but at the core there’s enough temperature and pressure to turn the gases into a solid. Gravity keeps everything in place.
