Ah, nothing like spreading manure on Thanksgiving morning.

I don't remember ever seeing dandelion leaves with orange pigment before

I got this one out of the library, not realizing it would also end on a cliffhanger and the library doesn't have any of the rest of the series. I also didn't realize it was slow-burn romance and I was a little "meh" about it, so I'm not sure how much work I want to put into it. I liked Hench better.

8yo did find this hare's foot inkcap mushroom on our hike this morning, so that was cool

Ha! One of the cats got into my spider plant, so I moved it to the cat bed they never use to get it away from them

I picked this one from the library to read with the kids. It's a Harry Potter substitution, but with a cat. It was fast-paced and the kids finally decided on it together, which is unusual for them.

From my TBR: Hench, which I *loved*. The main character is a data analyst, superheros are the antagonists, and the theme is the meaning of vengeance. Left me wanting more.

This was hard to put down. Not nearly as scary as the last one, just rooting for these young women to take their power back.

Welp, David Barker obviously hasn't taken the required Free Speech training:

This one was legit terrifying. It does for puppets what It did for clowns.

We're starting a summer ritual of making a burger from the Bob's Burger cookbook, then watching the episode. 8yo doesn't eat burgers, but she enjoys the television.

I've been wanting to read this since we saw the movie a couple years ago. I have to say, while the graphic novel is great, the movie was a better medium for the story, especially Nimona's shape-shifting and action sequences, and Goldenloin and Blackheart's relationship was better served.

This is not my usual fare, but it was gripping. The atmosphere was well done, as well as the housewife ennui. Very creepy, all round.

We are re-reading the Catstronauts graphic novel series. Highly recommended, and look for the "Prepare for lunch!" joke in every book. In looking up this cover, I see the seventh book in the series will be out later this summer; the kids will be thrilled.

I've been collecting Robin McKinley's books to re-read. I think I made it through all her books at one time, but I remember feeling like none of her other books came close to re-creating the magic The Hero and the Crown held for me, so I'm giving them all another chance with adult sensibilities.

The kids' school brought the author in for a visit for reading month last month. This is the second in the series, and the kids enjoy them immensely. I recently followed his Reels page on Facebook, telling stories from teaching. He's a good storyteller.
