All true, but the corruption calendar starts years, if not decades, before Jan 2025. The thievery has been in plain sight since the golden escalator. These same institutions' inability and/or refusal to hold any of it to account is how and why we are here.

Both are beautiful, but agree that Madrid is vastly underrated and a total gem. Plus, the train from Madrid - Granada is quick, delightful, easy (and a maddening reminder that we have nothing comparable.) The white villages of Andalucia are spectacular if you have time.
