I think the best thing about being a writer is the constant stream of rejection without feedback. You put across your best work, hope it meets unknown requirements and are left in the dark when it doesn't meet said requirements. Truly decimating to morale.

Currently deep in the weeds on draft 5 of my novel and I think I've finally just realised that the reason I write a lot of dialogue is that it helps me find way through a scene. I end up deleting so much of it in the edit.

Decided to basically archive a bunch of my writing on the Internet. Because I realise that even though I've been working on a book for 8 years, few people have actually seen my writing. So I'm going to post items I've had published. Starting with two poems:
