Severe weather last night. Like a true Midwesterner I am, stared out the back door at 3am watching the pelting rain and winds send the patio furniture rumble through the yard... and went right back to bed.

Returning to the small town you grew up in is interesting... my folks are there, and I love them, but I also get the cold sweats when I pass the city limits. Panic inducing flashbacks to being the weird kid in HS. Wonder if that ever passes?

I will never not love a thick slice of German Bologna fried in a skillet and assembled into a messy sandwich. Never ever. Instantly happy with a full belly. #thelittlethingsinlife

Is it bad that I cannot find joy in much of anything anymore? Or is that just the current vibe? Maybe this is what middle age is... no joy, just bifocals and lots of questions about my bowel habits?
