It turns out Trump's tariffs have very little connection to tariffs charged on American goods and nearly entirely on trade imbalance. So either we cut our wages to make our products more affordable to them or they increase theirs making their products less affordable to us. Either way, we lose.

I wonder if the economic disaster he has launched on the country and the world will be what he uses to declare a national emergency leading to martial law. That can be the basis to suspend civil rights on a wholesale basis rather than the bits and pieces he has done so far. The worst is yet to come.

Today Democrats squandered their power. They keep saying they have none. Today they did and handed it over to Trump. This was an opportunity to show their power and force some negotiation from a position of strength. Instead, they were scared and surrendered before the fight started.

Last year the Democratic Party ran the most disastrous political campaign in my lifetime allowing the installation of a fascist wannabe dictator in the White House with more than 1/3 not voting. Now their job is opposition. DO IT!

Just out of curiosity I asked the question about the size of our government. It is nearly the same size as in 1970 when it served 1/3 less people. Relative to other countries and our population it is small. Even in 1970 it was difficult to meet demand for services. What is the "bloat"?

My Ukraine peace agreement suggestion. Russia gets 14 days to pull out of Ukraine and Crimea. If they do not, Ukraine gets immediate full NATO membership. NATO provides full military defense to Ukraine. Europe helps develop Ukraine mineral resources to pay for reconstruction.

I believe we are watching the pre-game warmup as Trump removes everyone who might say no to what he plans next. Anyone who said that last time went onto his enemies list. A lot of what is happening now is distraction. He is setting himself up to be unstoppable. Then it gets real bad.

In further proof that deportations are not about safety and security, 6000 Homeland Security investigators were ordered to put drug, human trafficking, and terrorism investigations on hold to help with deportations. How can he claim he's protecting us while doing this?

The only way, for now, to combat the banned words, like "women" or "Gulf of Mexico" or "felon in the White House", is to use them as much as possible. Similar to how lists of banned books are used as suggested reading lists.

It appears the threat to take Panama back might actually have been black mail to encourage Panama to take American immigrants who couldn't be returned to their country of origin. Over 480, not from Panama, have been sent there. Their origin countries would not accept US military flights.

Is it legal for members of Congress to be denied access to any federal buildings? The latest denial was at the Department of Education and enforced by federal officers. How can Congress be a check on executive overreach if they can't investigate?
