The good news is that right now we are being paid $1.09 per kWh to CONSUME electricity from the grid, and we're stacking it into our battery. Isn't privatisation wonderful?

Ditto on the Central Coast. Middle of the day and zero solar. The Gods are Crazy 🤣

True story. My dear Mum told me to always wear clean underpants in case I was involved in an accident and the Ambos had to take off my pants. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. 😁😭😁

The official numbers are significantly boosted by investment $ in AI and Crypto. Numbers that don't help the average consumer. The US is a 2 speed economy - Racing to Riches and Struggling to Survive. Sad.

They may have had more traction if they'd renamed their country to The Gulf of Türkiye.

What this says is that the assessing of the health of the economy has nothing to do with with reality on the ground i.e. the well-being of the majority.

When a team is dismissed cheaply, it's likely due to it being a bowler's pitch. The supporters of the incoming team are always surprised when their team struggles too. *scratches head*

Fair Enuff. It puzzles me how it is cheaper to have many retailers each with their own marketing, advertising, sales, and support departments.

Wow, did not know that. They prolly have a large battery capacity to feed into the grid at night.

All firms are in biz to make a profit. Amber charges wsale prices buy and sell. Their only charge to their customer is $25pm subscription. I was buying elec at 30c kWh and selling at a generous 10c with AGL. With Amber I buy at av 10c and sell at 25c, often higher. It works for me, but not everybody
October 26, 2025 at 12:19 AM
Yes, but the 30 minute window is doubled to make it an hourly rate. The rate is applied to EVERYDAY of the month. Before I learned of this rort I rcvd a $67 PD charge 1 month. I forgot to mention that I have an incompatibility with my solar inverter which when fixed will yield at least $10pm CR more
October 26, 2025 at 12:10 AM
It learns your usage patterns. It warns of price spikes e.g. the other night I was selling into the grid at $41 per kWh, but only for a short while. In Usage I'm $43 in front then less fixed costs which for the month will be $25 Amber subs and Supply Charge of approx $30. In Nov + Peak Demand
October 25, 2025 at 11:57 PM
And you need solar and a battery otherwise it may cost you. If you let Amber manage your electricity it will power your home and top up during the day when prices are low then sell back to the grid at night when prices are high.
October 25, 2025 at 11:54 PM
Yep. Amber is triffic, but a few things to be aware of: Your inverter(s) must be compatible (most newer models are), read their stuff on Peak Demand Pricing (from the Ausgrids of the world not the retailers) which is about to kick in again, the bigger your battery the better.
