I ended up surprising myself with my final choice. Although I have read many, very many good books over the years, I ended up thinking mainly of one from when I was a mere child. Even now, I am happy to sit and read this little tale.

This is Dexter. He not only takes up my lap, but stretches out to my knees. His breed is called "Ragdoll" - perhaps you can see why? (Stay safe - I hate the cold and snow we have here, but so preferable to your circumstances!)
