It's been a while since I read it, but The Kennedy Women by Laurence Leamer. I often recommend it forgetting that it's 900 pages.

I'm a bit suspicious that this is happening frequently + that CPS really claimed they use their own set of rules instead of the state maltreatment laws. There are many problems with the child welfare system, but im not so sure about this one. The data here is n = 2 and is largely anecdotal hearsay

I was gonna say...this article is written by someone in leadership at the non-profit it's promoting. Seems skewed.

Also, it's been nearly 5 years since I worked with the data, so I should have maybe held my tongue 🙃. I do generally disagree with the source article Michael posted, but for different reasons mentioned in a separate reply.
